Anyone know what is new in this version? The last version released was 4.9.3, unless I missed 4.9.4, and I can't find a list of the changes. Power 64 (and Power 20) are nice emulators but they're written in machine language for the PowerPC and an Intel/Universal version will never be released. I also understand (from the developer) that there won't be any new features.

I like Power64 but there is one feature missing that is keeping me from registering. It lacks any communication functions. VICE (the free Commodore emulator, see: http://www.viceteam.org/) has a 'virtual modem' which is patched through to TCP/IP on your computer allowing you to connect to Internet-accessible bulletin boards (see: http://www.orrville.net/telbbs/) and things like the resurrected Quantum Link service (see: http://www.quantum-link.org/). Power64 won't be a fully functional emulator until this fearture is added and then I'll happily register.

This is a fantastic product, which I've used for several years now. The developer, Lieger, is one of the most dedicated Mac shareware developers out there, and continues to put out a steady stream of bug fixes and major new releases. So I totally disagree with the other user's comment about the cost ($25). When you purchase the product, you are getting a very high quality, professional emulator for years of lifetime, and doing your bit to support a fantastic developer in the process.
Fanastic Product

Native joystick support is here (again.) This program is, without a doubt, my favorite shareware app. It works flawlessly, is commercial-grade quality, and has as many features as you'd ever want. The Macintosh community is in debt to Roland for this fantastic app.
Wonderful.

Wonderful emulation, multiple window support, full sound, flexible keyboard mapping. It's genius. I only wish this kind of effort makes its way Amiga-ward. :) Thanks for the brilliant app! Well worth the price.

Absolutely brilliant emulation. It emulates the c64 perfectly from sound to graphics (as near as I can remember anyway). Throw in extra features like turbo support and you have a winner that beats the competition hands down. So what's the "but" and the reason for a non-pefect review? No joystick support in OSX! Other games in OSX have joystick support so it is possible. A major drawback considering the vast joy mashing a single button brings :) An updated version with native joystick support would make this software perfect. Although, it's been almost a year since the last update so I'm not holding my breath.
REMEMBER to download…

the "Classic" edition if you're running under OS9.x since the Carbon version won't work properly...

who still has games for the C64? Already transfered to a Mac of course :) I don't have mine anymore but would love to give this a go. Please e-mail me at stefan.kuypers@advalvas.be Thanx
* The fonts in the directory and debugger window are now scalable, to accomodate high-res screens, where 9-point Monaco is simply to hard to read.
* Added Support for Gamepads
* Minor Bugfix for Joystick Support in MacOS 10.4.9
* Improved Mouse Handling for Amica Paint
* Improved Timing for Barbarian
* Sound Output is broken on some Macs. This used to cause extremly fast emulation in Power64. While the root cause of this bug is still not understood, Power64 now detects the problem and safely falls back to mute emulation.
* Power64 sometime had trouble mounting disks via Drag&Drop. This bug has been fixed.
* Power64 no longer crashes when drawing screens in black/white mode.
* Lots of links in the documentation have been updated/fixed.
