Product Description:
Status Screen Saver allows you to be notified quickly and easily of changes to your applications while your Mac runs in screen saver mode. You can choose any other screen saver you would like to be shown as well as which applications are listed in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

...the fact that it's module-driven makes it pretty limited. I really wish it just reproduced my dock so that any activity down there would show when the screensaver was running.

2 of the screensavers I use most do not work with this. Both BOINC (used for SETI screensaver) and G-Force do not work. The NetNewsWire icon shows at the bottom of a black screen and the 2 mentioned screensavers never show.
