I've used CopyPaste for years. It seems to be getting worse. I can't get CopyPaste Pro 2.0 to work at all. It won't even open. I've had to force-quit it twice from Activity Monitor. It wouldn't open, but it grabbed 100% of my computing power until force-quit. - Vic Norton

I found the previous version of CopyPaste Pro so intrusive, I reverted to the old version. With this release, the developer has restored what was best about the old version, and added the benefits of the new. I find the new interface much more user friendly and generally useful.

Like others that have commented, I have been using copypaste and now copypaste pro for a long time (in the order of at least ten years).

I have regularly updated as betas have become available, and do not recall ever having any problems, including, for the moment at least, w/ version 1.1b9, which is installed on my powerbook pro along with a whole raft of other third-party software - everything seems to be getting along fine.

I like the recent modification of separating clip history from archive, which makes it much more convenient to use.

Here's hoping other users will figure out what the issues are that have interfered with normal operations.

CopyPaste Pro v 1.0.9 works great under Leopard 10.5.6. Anyone having problems should log out/in with Shift key down to disable Startup Items and then test CopyPaste Pro.

CopyPaste Pro ReviewDoes not work with 10.5.6 - Version: 1.0.9, 12/31/2008 09:57AM PST

Well, CopyPaste Pro absolutely does not launch under 10.5.6, and ScriptSoftware has neither developed a working version or even mentioned plans to do so. In fact, they've been pretty silent about the whole problem. So it seems like abandonware at this point. So, if you want OS X Leopard and CopyPaste, you have to choose between not upgrading your software beyond 10.5.5, or not using CopyPaste. Keep this in mind if you're thinking of installing it.

Additionally, I've never liked this "Pro" version of CopyPaste, which lacked the functionality of earlier versions of CopyPaste (such as the "+ yType" or even Classic versions, which melded seamlessly with the OS). It always seemed to not play very nicely with the Leopard clipboard, and often would cause you to have to hit "command C" multiple times to actually get something to copy, if that method would work at all. I really dislike the fact that I had to pay for a whole new version, for what felt like a downgrade.

This is all very unfortunate, as I long was a user and fan of this system addition, which I've been using for over 10 years. Now I'm looking at alternatives like PasteBoard Pro, etc, since it looks like I'm going to be forced to migrate at this point.

CopyPaste Pro ReviewWorked for two months then suddenly stopped - Version: 1.0.9, 10/12/2008 06:03PM PST

Long since my favourite 3rd party application, this latest version (1.09) worked great for a couple of months then suddenly stopped. This seemed to coincide with my installing the latest version of Unsanity's MenuExtra enabler but I am not sure. Has anyone else seen this problem? Until then I hugely enjoyed using it, although it is a little less ergnomic and slightly more clunky in some ways than the older version (2.6.3) - which just did what was needed and fast. However, this version is 'prettier' and it is a bit easier to archive and access old clips - very useful for multiple and repetitive tasks. The app. is not quite so vital as it was now that that Word has a 'paste and match style' option clearly indicated in the edit menu, but it is still useful for the ability to save multiple clips in a row and then to paste multiple clops in a row without having to go back and forth between documents. A pity it no longer works. I would happy to pay a really solid wack for this application if it were only more robust.

CopyPaste Pro ReviewStill has long standing problems - Version: 1.0.9, 7/3/2008 06:58PM PST

It's a great start, but there's still no CMM and the icon still doesn't load on the menu bar correctly even though it says it's finally fixed in this version.
It is still loading on the far left and simply can't be seen in most applications because it's the first icon to be covered up by the menus.
It needs to load on the FAR RIGHT SIDE.
PTH PasteBoard has this down. Why can't CopyPaste get it?
I purchased when it came out because of a long wait and their previous versions.
This version still has a way to go.
I have been applying every update waiting for these 2 major things to be fixed.
I am now now wondering if I made a mistake.
PTH PasteBoard Pro was great but I really wanted the CMM function to work under OS X.
I still don't have it!
If they could just put the menu icon functions into a CMM, that would be a great start.
If they can't, then is there anyone else out there that can?
