Apple iMac Software Update CommentaryiMac Black Screen Darwin Command Line Login - Version: 1.2.1, 11/6/2007 10:38AM PST

GMIC--2008
Installation of Software Update 1.2 for my aluminum 20-in iMac required an archive and install from my Mac OS X install disk before my system worked at all (with a little AppleCare help). When I finally retrieved all of my preferences/applications and made sure the system was still functioning normally, I applied the Software Update 1.2.1. Guess what ? System now boots to a black darwin command line login screen again - BAH and HUMBUG ! ! ! Sure hope Apple gets their ducks in a line soon.
