What's new in this version:

  • Updated this: CK's Text-to-Speech DJ for iTunes or iPod 0.16.app
  • Previously, this was named " DJ Track Names to MP3 0.14.app."
  • Added the capability to directly work with playlists on an iPod.
  • Changed this to create the DJ files using AAC, since it's designed to work with iTunes and iPods, there seemed to be no reason to use the more universally usable MP3 format.
  • Added in 2 "option" screens.

CK's Text-to-Speech to MP3 ReviewIt works better than Natural Reader for Mac ($69.50)... - Version: 0.92, 9/7/2009 02:29AM PST

As a doctoral student, I never have enough time to read my assignments. A PC friend recommended Natural Reader which comes in 5 PC versions and 2 Mac versions (naturally). I watched/listened to hers, bought it, and it would not convert to mp3--just hangs. Too many stupid steps for something that didn't work, that cost a criminal amount of money.

My wife found this, and it worked great the first time, and continues whether it is converting from your clipboard, text file, or Safari web page. Now I copy the converted file to iTunes, load it into a playlist for school readings, and listen to reading assignments being read aloud. I also have Cepstral voices, so they sound very human.

Thank you, Charles Kelly....

CK's Text-to-Speech to MP3 ReviewAs 'advertised' - Version: 0.92, 9/17/2008 10:21AM PST

The description of this software is quite accurate. It worked as described except for one minor detail. I copied some text to the clipboard, executed the proper aspect of the application and it proceeded to convert the text to spoken AIFF audio. Upon completion of the conversion the AIFF was automatically converted to mp3 in iTunes. The only aspect that did not work was that the original AIFF was supposed to be deposited in the trash. No complaints on that by me.
