Product Description:

Flow is a stunning new FTP client built exclusively for Mac OS X Leopard. Flow streamlines both transferring and editing files by leveraging your high-speed connection, presenting a gorgeous yet tasteful user-interface, and integrating the latest and greatest of OS X technology.
  • Solid Connections
  • Support for FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, .Mac, and Local Connections, concurrently to allow multiple transfers and editing sessions to take place at the same time.
  • Editing
  • Edit in the sleek internal editor (with tabs, syntax coloring, live previewing, and code sense), or with another editor of your choice.
  • URL Copying
  • URLs to your remote files can be copied instantly, even automatically after uploading. We promise that once you use this, you'll never be able to live without it again.
  • User Interface
  • We have an obsession with pixels. As a side effect, every pixel in Flow is simply lickable. Go ahead, lick away. Just be sure to clean the screen afterwards.
  • QuickLook
  • Just like the Finder, Flow can QuickLook pretty much any file — images, movies, music, PDFs, text documents and even web-pages!
  • Dropmarks
  • Drag a bookmark to your desktop - Boom: Instant Droplet. Drop a file on the its icon and watch as your file is quickly uploaded in Finder-like copy-window.

What's new in this version:

Changes
  • Added full support for Amazon S3 protocol.
  • You can now import bookmarks from Transmit and Cyberduck, using the "Import Bookmarks..." menu item newly found in the "Bookmarks" menu.
  • Added a navigational banner to LivePreview. Includes address field, back/forward buttons, and a stop/reload button.
    • This should make previewing with Flow *vastly* more usable. (Also great for things like CSS editing, because you can direct it at the page that uses that CSS)
  • Default font-sizes for internal editor-previewing are now the same as Safari.
  • File Previewing while connected locally now enforces the 6 MB limit.
  • Connection cloning now opens a new tab for the cloned connection instead of a new window.
  • The "Transfers" bar now displays the transfer count, like Mail.app displays the unread count.
  • .Mac renamed to "MobileMe iDisk".
Fixes for:
  • Massively more stable (and faster) transfers.
  • Massively faster directory listings.
  • Much better memory efficiency.
  • Bookmark Passwords.
  • Hangs when connecting.
  • Undo while editing.
  • "File Saved" growl notification now respects user's preferences for "Enable Growl Notifications."
  • Action Pop Up Button in main window toolbar.
  • Large transfers
  • External Editing
  • Deselecting a bookmark while editing, then hitting "Save" no longer empties the previously selected bookmark.
  • Connect View data accurately reflecting a bookmark after bookmark editing.
  • Switching between Connect View, Bookmark View, and Remote Files View now sets the key-focus appropriately.

Flow ReviewFlow's a joy to use - Version: 1.1.1, 1/3/2009 12:51PM PST

I've been using Flow for about 7 months now -- I think pretty much since it was released. Although it was pretty buggy at first, Flow is now an absolute joy to use. It's simple, it's intuitive, it's fast, it's stable, and it looks fantastic.

This app is a winner.

Flow ReviewLooks pretty, but that's about it. - Version: 1.0.3, 8/4/2008 09:38AM PST

I was really impressed with the interface. Very pretty.

However, I couldn't accomplish anything else with this program except logging into my FTP site. File transfers fail and I wasn't able to upload a single file to my site.

I dragged my files into the window, Flow populated the window with my file names and then most of the files just disappeared from the window. The files that remained in the window just sat there and did nothing.

As usual, don't pay for software that doesn't work. Use the trial first. I'm glad I did.

Flow ReviewSlick UI. Poor file transfer. - Version: 1.0, 4/7/2008 02:01AM PST

Sooth Sayer
A slick UI without a doubt, but most (if not all?) of that is provided by the OS itself, and as far as interfaces go not having a dual pane local/remote view makes it very hard to use, not to mention lots buggy of behavior in other areas.

The biggest problem though is that the file transfer bit ... you know, the part which actually makes the app of any use ... it's flaky as hell. "Solid Connections" ? Nope.
