Product Description:

TiVo Butler is an application for tracking programs recorded by your TiVos on your home network. It can automatically download shows that you want to save on your computer based on Smart Groups that you set up.

What's new in this version:

This version fixes a major issue in the previous release that prevented it from working on machines that did not have libfaac installed. This new version contains all the necessary libraries inside of the application package and it's binaries. Please let me know if conversion does not work on your computer, but I think I have it all covered now.

Issues addressed in the previous release:

Fixed - increased the size of the variable holding the program size so it can display larger than 2.0 GB
Fixed - crash on PPC if doing anything other than just downloading a tivo file
Fixed - help tips are now different between text boxes in the preferences
Fixed - work queue window now stays put when you show/hide the queue
Fixed - changes to helper tool arguments now will save every time
Fixed - large (over 2 GB) files should convert now
Fixed - read handle would be stuck listening for data if the task failed to launch due to a bad path
Fixed - correct download progress bar for large (over 2.0 GB) files
Fixed - convert progress bar isn't as jumpy as it used to be
Added - toolbar to the preferences box
Added - quick access to preferences from the main window via a new toolbar
Added - live searching in the main window
Added - document icons for *.tivo files
Changed - "Add to Selection" is now a tool bar item
Changed - expanded the work queue window to show all history

This program is terrific, exactly what I've been looking for. Clearly some stability issues in beta, but I'm hopeful those will get ironed out.

My one request to make it truly useful. I love that I'm able to prepend the date onto the file name, but it would be the perfect software if I could additionally append any of the other file info (ep name, series title, episode number, etc.)

I've never been able to get Toast's TiVo Transfer feature to work. TivoDecode Manager is quite problematic (especially the queue) and doesn't work reliably on Leopard. I tried TiVo Butler and, much to my surprise, it works! It crashes consistently when all queued downloads have finished and I've encountered a number of other problems. But, I'm once again able to get my TiVo files from my TiVo to my Mac. So I'm happy!
