NOT Freeware! - Version: 1.0, 3/12/2009 06:03AM PST

VersionTracker is incorrect to list this as Freeware... it's Nagware. After a few uses, the program requests a "Beerware" donation of 3 British Pounds via Google Checkout.

I'm using the version I downloaded from the website today (v.1.11) on a Quad G5 PPC under 10.5.4 and it works very well.
I agree the controls are a little strange but they're well documented. Files display very nicely on my 23" Apple display.
Seems stable, no problems so far.

Minimum system requirements wrong - Version: 1.0, 1/1/2009 01:04AM PST

The notes above suggest that this product can be used on OS X 10.4. This is certainly not the case. I immediately get an error message stating "Could not launch the application because it requires a version of Java that is not installed". Comic Reader Pro, rather inexplicably, requires a version of Java that Apple has noted as late as September 2008 is "for developers". Even in Leopard, the default version of Java remains 1.5.x as of 1 Jan 2009, but Comic Reader Pro requires 1.6. It's unclear to me why the developer is saying that PowerPC Macs and/or those running Jaguar can use this thing.
In fact, the minimum requirements are effectively the minimum requirements for Java 1.6: an Intel Mac running 10.5.2.
