...it's no real substitute for being logged on to the BBC live feed. News addicts will agree BBC offers the best, unbiased, most comprehensive, intelligent news in the world. Americans in particular would benefit from taking a listen, as most of the news in America is hopelessly nationalistic and biased. Often, it doesn't even report stuff happening outside the US, making American kids among the least-informed of any in the world.

Go to <http://news.bbc.co.uk/> and, over on the top right, click "Listen Live". Thanks to an uncharacteristic anti-Mac bias within the BBC web team, you'll have a few once-only set-up headaches if you use Safari but,once over that hurdle, you can listen to the best news anywhere.
