after i have been searching for a mac alternative to adobes captivate for ages i finally found screenflow.

well, its not like captivate and its way far from being like captivate, but for me it works well.
it does not work as perfect as captivate, but it works on my mac. captivate is still not available for mac. :-)

well, after recording i have to reedit the video, but thats fine for me.

i can highly recommend screen flow.

ScreenFlow Usage Tiprecent audio glitch - Version: 1.5.2, 6/27/2009 11:51AM PST

Screenflow is an excellent, easy to use product. The rendering is excellent.

The editing is not a pro editor at this price. But, the fact that it has an editor puts it above Snapz and iShowU.

I've had audio driver issues with 1.5.2 that I did not have with 1.5.1 using a MacPro 8 core machine.

Might want to wait upgrading if you have the multiprocessor machines

ScreenFlow ReviewScreenBlow - Version: 1.5.1, 4/10/2009 01:47PM PST

The only mistake the previous commenter made was understating the lousiness of ScreenFlow support. ScreenFlow support, upgrades, etc are all absolutely r-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s. I continually get the same error as the previous commenter which goes way beyond the classification of "bug". This so called "error" renders the entire application completely useless! And then to waste what minimal support advice they offer to simply "pass the buck" off on a handful of other applications you might be running is pathetic.

During the advent of ScreenFlow, potential was it's most rousing asset. Since then ScreenFlow hasn't made any compelling advancements at all.

Add it all up and it's easy to see that ScreenFlow is a total bust. Save your time and money and check out worthy alternatives with better support and less arrogance to think that users are going to overhaul their systems just to be able to run ScreenBlow.

ScreenFlow ReviewDoesn't Work, Support Is Horrid! - Version: 1.2.1, 11/22/2008 08:15PM PST

Apparently, support for this product is only during the weekdays, even on the forums! Meanwhile, I bought the product for the $99 charge and it hasn't been able to record anything. The support responses I got on Friday led me to removing a few software apps that I now regret removing, as well as turning off my virus checker (offline only to test this theory) and nothing worked!

This is all I get when trying to record:

"Due to an internal error, the recording has unexpectedly terminated. Please try making your recording again, and if problems persist, contact us for technical support."

Buyer beware!

Ever since I switched to Screenflow for my product screencasts, I've been getting compliments on how good the quality is. This, for me, is the premium screencast tool for the Mac. Well worth the money.

This program is excellent. 10 Stars.

I have one feature request and that is an automated way to select a standard Video dimension ie... 4 x 3 ratio etc... Otherwise this is so much easier to use than SnapZPro and does not have the renewable license pain in the XXXX that SnapZ Pro makes you go through every month.

Highly Recommended.

But $100 for shareware???? Why bother calling it shareware if you're going to charge the equivalent or more of the full retail prices of other apps? Crazy...

A few nights ago at WWDC the Apple Design Awards honoured this app twice, including the 'Best Mac Application' award or their integration and use of technologies, elegant user interface, etc.

Looks like I've got to try this one!

ScreenFlow ReviewIt is amazing, incredible and unbelievably cool. - Version: 1.1.2, 6/7/2008 08:23PM PST

10 out of 10 Stars. I can't say enough about how great this program is. Amazing, Incredible and Stunning It is amazing, incredible and stunning. It does things that I did not even think were possible. I Just Started Using This Program I tried ScreenFlow for the first time a few days ago and am totally blown away by how great this software is. Things You Can Do You can zoom in and zoom out if you want to highlight something AFTER the video is made. You can record audio and add it to the video as an additional track AFTER the video is made. You can add music to your video AFTER the video is made. You can enlarge the cursor in the video AFTER the video is made. You can enlarge the window in the forefront AFTER the video is made. You can have it put a red circle around the cursor every time you click the mouse button to draw people's attention to it, and you can have it make a sound every time the mouse is button as well. You can have it put a spotlight on the cursor to highlight to focus somebody's attention. It Is In A Total Different League Than Snapz Pro This program is in a total different league than Snapz Pro. Used By Apple To Make Their Tutorials, I Assume I imagine that this is the software that Apple uses to make their tutorials. I've Used Snapz Pro For 4 Years And Made 75-100 Videos I've used Snapz Pro for 4 years and have probably made 75-100 tutorial videos for my father to show him how to do things on his Mac. I liked Snapz Pro for the fact that I could make videos. However, ScreenFlow completely and totally blows away Snapz Pro. It is ridiculous to compare the two. It would be like comparing a professional basketball player to a child in 5th Grade child who is the star of his basketball team.
