The ExactScan developer team has announced a new version which has a lot of new features and functionalities like a new TWAIN interface to allow using different scanners with TWAIN drivers, language support for more than 20 languages and much more...

Additionally new controls for the "Blank Page Detection" to delete blank page or to use a placeholder as well as a sensitivity control for the detection. The new direct "Scan 2 Print" functionality was added to transform a Mac into a digital copier using the existing scanner and printer. Another feature is the possibility to reset profiles to their default settings.

ExactScan is a fast solid document scanning for Apple's Mac OS X platform. With built-in driver for over 160 certified document scanners from Avision, Kodak, Oki, Visioneer and Xerox and TWAIN interface for many different TWAIN drivers. Sophisticated image enhancement algorithms and filing for everyone at your fingertip.

For smooth work-flow integration ExactScan allows the automation via AppleScript by advanced users.

ExactScan supports various file formats, including PDF, Compressed PDF, JPEG, JPEG2000, (multi-page-) TIFF, PNG and it is compatible with popular programs like the OCR software Omnipage, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office and document managment software for a paperless office.

This is the only way to run the great AVision scanners on the Mac. The latest betas work well with 10.5.1. Pretty utilitarian interface but great scanning options.

Tried to buy the software on their website today but all the pages dealing with the actual purchase are in German - not much help. If you do battle through it all, the actual order fails - taking you to the German PayPal site without registering your data.

Thus impossible to buy. Pity.

Guys you need to clean this up a bit. And translate the Store pages into English.
