MediaInfo Mac is an multimedia file analyzer. By using the amazing MediaInfo Library by Jerome Martinez, it will tell you every detail about codecs, settings, profiles and containers used for almost any audio or video file.

MediaInfo Mac is Now 100% native 64 bit code for capable systems which makes it a lot faster, specially for BIG files.
AVS (Chinese Audio Video Standard) support
AVI: Support of malformed chunks
Matroska: delay between audio and video calculation (for AC-3, DTS, MPEG Audio)
Full Replay gain support (gain/peak, track/album) for Flac/Ogg/MP3
MPEG-TS without PAT/PMT (example: stream captured by some satellite TV receivers) support
MPEG-TS: Service info (name, provider, channel number) for both DVB and ATSC tags
Dot and thousand separator localized
Matroska: Handling of audio
Delay DV: Crash with floating point exception on

latest version will not even open on a G4/500 - the version before worked fine. had to re-install 7.6.30 (the only old version i could find online)

Gives me all the info pertinent to the type of media file I'm checking. Very thorough and in depth, provides all the stats and settings used.

Splunge

v 0.7.7.50 (the latest available) will not launch on my 2ghz G5 iMac running 10.4.11. The icon bounces once in the dock, and the app immediately quits. No idea what the trouble could be.
