I just started using a Mac, so forgive the n00bidity.
Does this codec affect the encoding performance of Handbrake? Or is this just for QuickTime encoding (I assumed you needed QuickTime Pro for that).
Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

Important Incompatibility Notice
Problem:
- You may experience "jerky, stuttering effect" using Perian 1.1.4.
Detail:
Perian 1.1.4 seems to have a regression in "multiple B-frames" movie support.
- Zero or One B-Frame movie never hit this issue.
- Movie itself is not broken.
- This issue does not occur under Apple H.264 decoder 7.6.x.
Temporal solution:
Choose one of following.
- Use Perian 1.1.3 instead of 1.1.4, or
- Remove Perian till new version is available.
The new Perian v. 1.2 list of changes does not mention this problem, so I am wondering if it was fixed in Perian 1.2? I tried to pose this question directly to the developer, but his English and Japanese websites list no contact info.
