Uses 90% of cpu cycles to display frequency analysis, too. (G4, 1.67MHz, last PPC PB made, running 10.4.11)
I had to force quit. I couldn't even properly resize windows after that or quit the window.

A great piece of software!

And a bargain too. Would have been nicer if the interface was a single window, but being freeware, I'm not complaining. :¬)

I ran the app for the Intel Mac. Some windows began to appear then froze. Other applications began to freeze. Mouse clicks were delayed for several minutes as I wrestled to shut down the applications and reboot my computer. Deadly.

Worked great for me.

I set out to fade out crowd noise at the end of live tracks to make smoother sounding CD compilations, and this program worked great for me. Didn't really find any other programs that could easily do that for me, and this one made it painless, I was finished within five minutes of downloading it. And it's free.
Thanks a lot

i would like to give this app a 5 star. It works great on my Intel Mac, is quick and easy to understand. + CPU seems to be cooler then any other apps (Cubase and Garage Band).
Not so good for Macs

For some reason, best known to the developers, the Mac version of this software sucks compared to the PC one.
Almost....

Seems like it could be a useful little app for basic audio-file tasks (like shrinking speech podcasts into low-bitrate mono files for my small-capacity mp3 player)-- if it worked. Finally figured out how to get it to show me the mp3 options screen (add ".mp3" suffix to file), and after three or four tries it managed to download some file it said it needed to do the mp3 conversion. When I hit "save", though, Wavepad crashes every time. (G4 running 10.3.9)
Back to Audacity and/or Sox Wrap!

Yes it does allows you to add Macro Keys...

but you have to add any that you want, and then you can't remove the macros or the program hangs.
Can't recommend it yet.

This application is not Universal Binary.
Although it is mentioned in this page that Wavepad is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 Intel and Mac OS X 10.5 Intel, this is a PowerPC application. That's the information I get from the Finder (File - Get Info).

Finding this out, I threw it in the trash. Then emptied it. Bye.
