Product Description:

Your Internet is fast. Mac OS X is fast. Why can't your web browser be fast? Well it can be with Radon.

Radon is the revolutionary new browser based on the powerful rendering engine "Webkit". Webkit is the same engine used as Safari. You might be asking, "Why don't I just use Safari?". Well the answer is simple. Safari is bulky and takes a lot of resources away from your computer that you could be using for other applications, or if you have an older Mac, then its taking resources that you just cant afford to lose. Radon is FAST

We like acrostic poems. We hope you like this one.

Fast.

We integrated The newest version of Webkit into Radon, so you get a faster browsing experience. You will notice how much faster all Webpages load. This is including photos, complex layouts and other slow pieces of the web.

Awesome

Radon is a browser that has something many others do not. Curb appeal. It has logically placed buttons, a large web viewing area, and a downright pretty color scheme that will add a little class to your Mac.

Simple

We have stripped away all the things in a web browser that make them run slower. For example, Radon does not have a built in downloader. A piece that usually accounts for 30% of a browsers resources. We have included a separate Downloader called Krypton (although Superman approves of this kind!). Also, we have made the UI so simple a toddler would probably get it's head around it in a few minutes!

Tiny

The best part of Radon is its size. Weighing in at only 3MB (while Safari is 100MB and Firefox is 75MB), and taking up half the resources then its competitors, Radon is sure to be the browser that you go to first.

Web Browsers are different then they used to be. They feature better graphics, snazzy icons and buttons, and fit into your OS like a glove PERIOD. But, through all this, they lose sight of what THEIR purpose is as an application. MAINSTREAM browsers have all the pretty bells and whistles, but THEY'RE heavy and clumsy. Despite these little typographical errors, I'll still give it a try!

Radon Browser CommentaryGetting better - Version: 1.5, 2/20/2008 12:00AM PST

This application gets better with each update, but I don't like many of the interface things:

1. The preferences do not have a good layout
2. The Krypton panel is rather ugly
3. The buttons (toolbar, preferences, etc.) are kind of gross
4. I don't like brushed metal
5. Do not make the URL field look like a search bar!!! Rounded is not attractive...
6. And more...

Here's a thought: make it look like a unified version of Safari. Give it a smart, uncluttered, look and feel. It makes me think I'm in some sort of a Cocoa maze. Take the preferences and downloader, for instance: they don't have much content, therefore they should be small panels. Also, I wouldn't use utility panels. Not good!

Another thing, the whole goal of Mac OS X is "you know one program, you know all". Your keyboard shortcuts should match Safari. Apple made them what they are for a reason:

Page bigger: ⌘+
Page smaller: ⌘-
Page normal size: ⌘0
Back: ⌘[
Forward: ⌘]
Home: ⌘⇧H
View source: ⌥⌘U
Reload page: ⌘R
Stop: ⌘.
Downloads (Krypton): ⌥⌘L

Clean up the interface and then this is a GOOD web browser.

Radon Browser Troubleshooting ReportTroublesome Browser - Version: 1.5, 2/20/2008 12:00AM PST

After downloading it wanted to know if I would like to download the update which was available. I took the download and the installer reloaded the Browser. It then wanted to update and I did so 3 times finally I gave up. In preferences I indicated my start page as www.versiontracker.com/macosx I clicked the home button but nothing changed. I quit Radon and relaunched it and found that my preference was wiped out even though I had clicked the Apply button. The start page had the address of Versiontracker but it was a Blank page.I gave up on this browser as I could do nothing with it. I'm using a Powerbook G4 with 10.5.2 in this case and I am consequently hesitant about installing Radon on my other Macs (2other G4 Powerbooks and a G5 PowerMac.)
