Having learnt the hard way, version 4.5 was not a PowerPC-compatible release. According to what I've read at the website, 4.1.x was the last of the releases compatible with PowerPC processors.
It's fine software, but I can no longer receive updates for newer camera bodies unless I change to a newer machine.

This release is't working with the new 10.6 :-(
So if you really use it productive wait for an update
