Don’t Care - Version: 2009-005, 11/13/2009 07:34AM PST

All went well on the update, but I do not care about what is in a security update. I just do it and re-pare permissions. I did before this get Safari coming up with the message “word leaks” and have not since.

I noticed that this update spent an unusually long time on the Configuring Installation stage right at the start, particularly on my G4, with the sound of lots of disk activity. After that it went OK, although also quite a long restart. The usual Shockwave permissions to repair because of the Flash update, of course. All seems well, though.

I rarely post on VT unless something exceptionally good or bad happens. I've been an exclusive advanced Mac User since 1987... this update on my Intel Core Duo MacBookPro15 went very very smooth as most of these update do (for me). After the update... everything on my Mac has speeded up 10-15%, graphics are clearer and render quicker, all my applications just seem to start-up quicker and close/quit without incident. Typically... this doesn't happen... or there is some minor issue/sluggishness after an update. I always run applejack AUTO before an update... then use Software Update to update... then let the system restart until I get a complete reboot... then restart again and run applejack AUTO (and then clear the user caches)... then restart again. Very very pleased with this update. Daily use of the following applications... WebKit (nightly downloads), FireFox 3.5.2, MicroSoft Office 2008 (mostly Entourage), Skype (latest beta), FileMakerPro9 Advanced, DreamWeaver CS3, Ready-Set-Go 7.8(beta), still use an older version of AppleWorks, AudioHiJack, BBedit, Fetch, several plugins too numerous to mention. By the way... been a loyal daily VersionTracker viewer/user since they first launched... what a great service to the user community.
