Product Description:

BdTranslator is a powerful Menu Bar language Translation application that takes up very little room on you menu bar and performs Basic Translation from English to 11 other languages simultaneously using the power of Google Translation services.

You can use Apple's Service to do translations from any application on selected text up to 1,000 characters in length and or bring in a file for translation from the Finder.

BdTranslator Documents allow you To store and organize translations records, each Translation record can be set to have a different language In or Out and other additional languages can be set for translation on a per record basis. BdTranslator performs automated Translation on hundreds of translation records, making bulk translations a snap.

BdTranslator allows you to import .CSV files to simplify mass translation and also export the final Translation back to a . CSV or .TSV file readable by Numbers or Excel on any on MAC, DOS or Unix file systems.

BdTranslator is built using 100% Cocoa and Objective-C, BdTranslator leverages the built-in power of Mac OS X10.5 (Leopard) to give you access to the latest technologies available from OS X, like Core Data SQL storage.

I bought it and have tried it, and I'm pleased with it. I was pleased to discover that BdTranslator was a bi-directional translator (which I didn't think was obvious from their site). It seems to translate well, and I was very impressed with the support. I got my serial number within minutes of buying, and Mr. Cook sent an email in response to my question within minutes. It was very clear and even included screenshots. Overall, it's a great app with great support!

I have tested the translator a number of times and have found it useful but could not justify the $40 price. They just reduced the price to $20 which I feel is fair. I am purchasing the software now.

I have had the wonderful opportunity of testing the application and was even able to find a bug in the early version which the developer fixed right away. I work for a photo content studio and we have to translate keywords for our photos all the time and we were working on building some type program that would help when I was told about this and must say for us it is an amazing time saver. For single vocabulary it does a great job. Sentences are another story but that is because of the Google translation engine not the app. If you ever do a lot of translation this app come in very handy.
It is worth it just to be able to translate into multiple languages at the same time. I recommend giving it a try.
