Using 10.5.4 on an intel iMac, this works perfectly for Albany, Western Australia. Very neat little app, although a black font colour would be easier to read.

Search for Maple Ridge and get mine in BC and another in NB. The NB one appears in the menu according to the Lat and Long. Cannot see how to select Maple Ridge BC.

Also, the Lat and Long are out from Google Earth.

Weather Vane ReviewRescinding My Rejection: WeatherVane's Okay - Version: 1.7.1, 4/12/2008 06:30PM PST

I need to rescind my previous comment that Weather Vane doesn't work. It now appears in my Menu
Bar and works fine. My Menu Bar is crowded, but when I changed the Battery icon to Image Only, Weather Vane appeared and, after I restarted my Mac, works fine. It's pretty handy, actually. I still don't like the idea that it can only be shut off from the Menu Bar, not its icon, apparently. But that's minor, compared to the reservations I expressed before, and now retract.

Weather Vane Reviewmeh. not great, not bad - Version: 1.7.1, 4/10/2008 07:11AM PST

I'm wondering why the font color in my menu bar is blue; it's harder on the eyes than regular black. I'm also wondering why there's an 8 point temperature difference between the Weather Vane menu bar and my usual weather forecaster, Meteo/Meteorologist reads. I put the same zip code in both apps.

As of this moment, Meteo beats this thing, even though temperature previews are each in their own submenu along with each day's forecast.

This could be better though if you could add a little more customizing ability, such as:

• an option to get rid of the gay pastel blue font color in favor of black
• an option to remove the temp. scale specifier (°C/°F)
• add 'zip+4' for better zip code locality

I had to click on the link to find out what exactly was the 'Status Bar'. It is called the Menu Bar, this is a Mac, not a PC.

Weather Vane CommentaryStrange - Version: 1.5, 12/5/2007 07:11PM PST

It runs as a PPC app (instead of Intel) on my Macbook Pro. Looks real nice... all the other menu based weather programs have become pretty cluttered. This tells me what I want to know - the forecast (not radar, pressure, sparrow velocity, etc).

Weather Vane Commentarysounds like a great app... - Version: 1.5, 12/4/2007 01:40PM PST

...if I could download it. I click on both Versiontracker and the developers links and get nothing but a separate window of symbols, letters, and numbers
