Wm. CerniukAt 1/10 the price of Photoshop and easily 10 times faster at startup, Pixelmator is suitable for 80% of what Photoshop does. Most people who think they need Photoshop could do nicely and better with Pixelmator. It is definitely worth a try. I don't use Photoshop at work or at home any longer because of Pixelmator ... and liked this so much that I bought a personal copy instead of asking work to get my Photoshop upgrade.
This one is a real gem and I do not hesitate recommending it.

LMauiThere are some drawbacks for me though.
There are no font tools to handle such things as align (left, right, center, justify).
I just ran into this problem last weekend. I had to save in photoshop format and go into photoshop and align from there.
Pixelmator team, keep up the good work and please add alignment tools.
It's really owrth the money!

Almost evert month there is an (free) update with many new features. The support (via forum) is pretty... it's really worth the money :-)

tranceThis will never be a serious graphic application without the option of disabling color managent, and after seeing no attention paid to other users as well as my request to implement it, I am giving up on this for good since they seem to not give a rat's a$$ what people want ... they only care about what they want ... so, good luck to them.
I'm not a pro, but love it

cape01...no color picker inside filters like change/substitude colors
...no preview/original button in filters
...no history window for pic manipulations
...no high-light, shadow and mid-tone tool - this makes Pixelmator absolutely useless for me as digital photographer!!!!

color profiles - Version: 1.2, 5/12/2008 04:59AM PST

tranceMy two biggest complaints are:
1 - you cannot set a preference to discard/remove color profiles on load or save.
2 - does not support photoshop filters
The color profile issue is the one that makes it still unuseable for me.
