Stationery Pack ReviewExpensive - Version: 2.0, 9/23/2009 07:21PM PST

I got this when it first came out, then I upgraded to version 2 for a lot more money. And very time there is a holiday or change of season, the company wants another twenty bucks for a few more forms. Personally, I use two or three of these every couple months, so it hasn't been very cost effective for me. Tonight I fired the software up again, and it's offering me another upgrade, but I have to pay. It also offers a "free" upgrade, but I never did figure out out to "enable" the upgrade.

Bottom line? The registration process is so complex that I can't get a few bits of "free" stationery, and other upgrades are like buying the software all over again. But it's not a big deal, because I have the three pieces that I use, so I don't need a dozen new ones.

Stationery Pack ReviewMail individualization - Version: 2.0, 4/6/2009 11:33AM PST

I mainly use my Mac to communicate and I write tons of emails each day. A few weeks ago I discovered Stationery Pack and ever since I installed the templates I am thrilled. Every mail I send out is getting its personal touch now. I really like the template designs, there is always a template that underlines my mails' content.

I too purchased v1. The lack of an upgrade price (ought to be no more than $20) makes this a non-starter. Lesson learned. Do not support any software company that has a prohibitive upgrade policy.

Stationery Pack ReviewUpgrades for registered users? - Version: 2.0, 10/2/2008 03:00PM PST

Version 1 was $30 - what I thought was a hefty price for a product with a fairly mediocre assortment of templates (given the fact, say, that iWeb, Keynote and Pages, which contain totally professional design templates, are effectively sold at around $35 each ($100 for all 3)

But SP1 did have a few gems mixed in. The lack of customizability of the templates was a frustrating feature - nice backgrounds but one can't delete an obnoxious photo or graphic plopped in the middle.

A price jump clear up to $50US is pretty intense. Add to that - absolutely no discount offered to those of us who supported Equinux and plunked down cash for Stationery Pack v 1 - when it was not a tried & tested product - feels enough like a slap in the face to me to take a pass on this. I hope Equinux will reconsider and offer SP2 to previous users for, say, a $25 upgrade price. Otherwise, I'll build my own in HTML.

Stationery Pack ReviewNot Great - Version: 2.0, 9/19/2008 11:34AM PST

This isn't the most impressive Mail add-on I've used that's for sure. The stationary templates are attractive - some more than others - but their BIG downfall is a changed template cannot be saved. For example, if I want to send an e-mail using stationary that enables me to add my company logo and business info, I have to do that EVERY time. It can't be saved as a standard template. Sure, you can save a blank to drafts but what a pain.

Also, I bought the family pack and let me tell you, this company's licensing hoops are the biggest I've ever had to jump through. It's a bloody nightmare. That reason alone, if I'd known, I would not have purchased this software - and never again will I purchase something from equniux - they just make it way, way, way too difficult.

Stationery Pack ReviewMoney Grubbing Useless Company - Version: 1.0.2, 5/10/2008 11:24PM PST

I "was" interested in this...even received an email from their mailing list how they were giving away a free stationery template for Mother's Day. Hey, great and what a way to not only invite me to review and purchase their wares by enticing with template that I could actually readily use for Mother's Day? Are so I thought. After loading up the free template to send off to Mother I as greeted by some of the most crass advertising I have ever seen and positively not worthy to send to any mother, anywhere, period. The entire template is laden with Equinux plugs!

I was a licensed user of another application of theirs: iSale. But, Ieft when they became ridiculous about their upgrades (that I do not have a problem paying for) and the quality of iSale plummeted.

Avoid this company!

Stationery Pack CommentaryDon't bother to download - Version: 1.0, 10/30/2007 07:10AM PST

This "appears" to be an application that you can download and try out. It is NOT. It is an advertisement that installs onto your computer. When you run the app, you can see pictures of stationery. When you try to use the stationery and see how it works, a pop-up window appears requesting that you buy the software. Again, this is just an advertisement to clutter up your system. Do not download it.
