can't see desktop when in finder

the only frustrating thing is it hides the desktop when you want to be in the finder. any workarounds for that? it's great to hide the desktop when your in another app, but you need to see it when using the finder.

Version 1.5 prevents me from entering key chain and administrator passwords in OS 10.4.11. I have to turn it off then I can enter the passwords. BUT I DO LOVE IT and hope for the bugs to be worked out.
