Product Description:

Built from the ground up to resemble the media browser found in several Apple applications, the Karelia iMedia Browser is a stand-alone utility that can be used to quickly access a user's library of photos, sounds, movies, or bookmarks. The Karelia iMedia Browser allows users to browse their libraries of photos (iPhoto, Aperture, and Pictures folders); music (iTunes library, GarageBand songs, and Music folders); movies (from iTunes, iPhoto, and Movies folders), and bookmarks (from several leading web browsers). It can be activated either from the dock or from a small icon in the menu bar.

What's new in this version:

New Features

  • The music browser now allows you to use the space bar to pause and resume the selected track.
  • Double-clicking on an image in the photo browser will open up the image with the default image-viewing application. Holding down the control key while double-clicking will cause the original (unedited) version of the photo to be opened, if available.
  • Lightroom parser now uses user-modified images rather than original masters
  • Audio browser now allows you to search by title, artist, album, or genre by holding down the popup menu on the magnifying glass icon in the search field.
  • Folder parsing, for Lightrooom 2 users who prefer to work with Folders rather than Collections

Bug Fixes

  • It is now possible to drag images to Microsoft Word documents.
  • Fixed an audio "hiccup" where dragging the slider to scrub within a track would set the time when the mouse was released.
  • Now properly displaying minutes:seconds counter in audio browser.
  • Fixed a bug where some collections were missing in the lightroom parser
  • Fixed issues with signing up for mailing list when not online
  • Updated FMDatabase to newer version which should improve performance
  • Update database code for improved parsing of Lightroom and Aperture libraries
  • Stability improvements (improving on Leopard, not Tiger)
  • Memory allocation improvements for large library parsing
  • Some speed-ups in loading libraries with many sub-nodes.
  • Localization updates

Known Issues

  • Loading large libraries with multiple sub-nodes, especially Aperture libraries, can be very slow especially if that library is the item selected when iMedia Browser first loads. We will be working on a long-term solution, but the short-term solution is to make sure that your Aperture library is not selected when you quit the application.

(Framework version 712)
