Product Description:

Store, track and mange your licenses. Licenses for software, services and tools - allocatable to different Macs. Lizenzen is a portable application - so you can have your licenses with you... * Secure encrypted database * Password-protected * Drag & Drop Licenses into open license-dialogs * Copy to clipboard * AutoSave * Portable Application

What's new in this version:

I have completely rewritten the old 'Lizenzen' application. You can now affix those stupid license files and add an application icon with a single click. Icons are now stored as small .png files - so even when you own hundreds of apps the database will be small and your Mac won't work up a sweat... There is also no difference anymore between the portable and the normal version - you can use this new app in both modes and even sync with your iDisk (Dropbox) if needed... You can simply update from any previous version or backup file...

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC

myLicenses ReviewLots of pluses, only a few minuses - Version: 2.0.1, 11/21/2007 01:16PM PST

First, I tested and compared Lizenzen with Licensed and LicenseKeeper. I don't consider Pastor (which I also use) a competitor because it's a different animal. The best is without question LicenseKeeper, but it costs 20 bucks. So, between the two freeware apps, Lizenzen is simply better designed with a very attractive interface. It works as advertised except for these minor bugs:

1. The currency field will not accept any input (I tried 1$, 1 $, 1.00$, 1.00 $, 1,00 $), displaying a formatting error alert and will refuse to continue until one clicks Done.
2. The date format is set with a dot after the day (?) and will be partially hidden by the calendar icon when longer than 26 characters. (Suggest a pref panel to customize date formats.)
3. The Delete button is way too easy to click! All your work done on that license is gone! Definitely needs a "Are you sure?" alert. For now, if this happens, just Force Quit instead of Quit.

A very useful app indeed.

but my favorite is Pastor which gives you some more options with higher security:
Pastor stores all your passwords, website logins, program serial numbers, etc. RC4-encrypted and password-protected. With built-in password generator.

A nice wee program that does a good job of collating all the registration/licence data for software that you buy. N.B. no help or documentation supplied but it's easy to figure out and it's free!
