I own Snapz Pro X and have not been happy with it's screen capture capabilities. So I was researching some others including ScreenFlow, Screenium and Jing. Some are relatively expensive, some are reasonably priced but Jing is free.
Well, Jing just blows me away. Not only is it PC and Mac capable, it is so easy to use and quick to learn. For doing quick screencasts to share with others, either as a URL, or to embed in a website or blog post, this is just incredible. Check it out.

Slick, easy-to-use tool

I'm a librarian and when I get a question about a procedure that's complicated to explain over the phone or by e-mail, Jing is the perfect solution (unless the patron doesn't have internet access). It's easy to use and takes only a few seconds to demonstrate something, upload it, and send the link to the patron.
Interesting and useful

This is a great little app anyway you look at it, easy to use (though I've only captured a couple of streaming video files) and seems stable enough on my macbook pro 10.4.10 OS. It might be nice if the audio taken was done internally by selecting the source (such as audio hijack) as it seems it's recorded off the mic, maybe there's a pref setting?
There a million uses for this even if you don't share the files. Again I'll look for different formats to save files in preferences, the default one is totally obscure and it seems only niceplayer will open it for playback. I like the fact you can assign the icon to either the menubar or the desktop as a hidden background icon.

you got to be kidding me, this thing is like rocket science for the internet.
this is what NASA could only dream about for real-time collaboration.
I dont know about PC's(pretty crappy) but for the MAC world this is truly a revolution.
i think this could be google's next acquisition. { replies to goo2mark@gmail.com}
