Product Description:

ADTPro is a feature-rich communications platform for exchanging disks and disk images between the Apple II family computers and the modern world.

ADTPro has two main purposes in life:

  • Transferring Apple II disk images
  • Bootstrapping Apple II computers when boot diskettes are long gone

ADTPro uses any of three communications mechanisms:

  • Serial (RS-232, USB) hardware
  • A2Retrosystems "Uthernet" ethernet card
  • Audio/Cassette ports

Bootstrapping chores can occur with zero software at the Apple II end over serial and audio communications links. Extensive help and tutorials are available on the ADTPro website: http://adtpro.sourceforge.net

What's new in this version:

  • Hosts with zero audio mixers (a Java thing) were crashing with java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException in AudioConfig.java. Fixed.
  • IIgs serial port initialization was not working for speeds below 115.2kbps as a result of the 300 baud integration in v1.0.3. Fixed.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1

Additional Requirements:

  • OSX 10.1 or above
  • Java

Apple Disk Transfer ProDOS ReviewYou gotta believe it, when Apple II's are more RELIABLE than todays Chinese made Mac. - Version: 1.0.6, 2/11/2008 12:00AM PST

Did you know that Apple began their year's of outsourcing everything they put their name on with the Apple II Plus and IIe, when they contracted a designer / manufacturing company in Canada (look at the back of your II+ or IIe), who then a year later outsourced the construction to Japan and then Taiwan.

All Apple is, is a marketing company with junk all made in China.

If the Apple II could inspire such devotion that decades later people still need to get data off of 'em, then all I can say is hoorah! That's a product with legs (whatever that means).

Yea, I guess some people may find this handy in trying to transfer really, really old files. Not for me. Everything I had back then that was worth keeping has already been transfered. I do like the Icon.
