Product Description:

Like a personal video recorder (PVR) for radio, Radioshift enables internet and AM/FM radio to be recorded automatically and listened to at any time.

Radioshift can be used to explore and listen to over 50,000 radio listings from around the world. As well, users can listen live to thousands of RealAudio, Windows Media, QuickTime, and MP3 streams, all in one player.

Best of all, audio can be subscribed to and automatically recorded. When you come back, the audio will be ready for listening.

What's new in this version:

Back in November, we added a new MP3 playback engine to Radioshift to improved playback on thousands of streams. With version 1.1.2, we've worked to make this engine even more robust, handling malformed MP3 streams and more. As well, we've improved Radioshift's search functionality to provide faster results.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC

Radioshift CommentaryVery Disappointing - Version: 1.1.4, 8/16/2009 12:12AM PST

I bought and paid for this product after a brief trial as it looked so promising and easy to use. However, after almost a month's real-world use I have to say it has been a waste of time and money. Only around 30% of scheduled recordings were successful. The remainder failed part way through due to what were variously reported as network errors, URL errors etc. Now uninstalled and consigned to the trash bin.

This has such huge promise but is so disappointing. The previous version was buggy enough so I was hoping the update would be an improvement. No dice. Wanting a little world music, It went to the globe view and, having found it's completely hopeless, I went to Search. Type in Mali and... No Results. Okaaay. Let's try Cape Town. No Results. Hunh? Helsinki then. No Results. Right then, LONDON. "No frigging results". Oh come ON!! Until this product improves, I suggest you avoid it, as a polite hint to the developers.

Radioshift ReviewBeautifully Slick! - Version: 1.1.2, 1/2/2009 09:31AM PST

I wanted a radio player app that would house my favorite stations.

I tried a widget but that was flaky and sucked my bandwidth even when it wasnt on!

However, this application is beautifully easy, beautifully slick and even records. Its a fantastic interface that just works! Sometimes quality is simple. And this is exactly what I was looking for.

Ok, its not cheap but quality rarely is.

Recommended by this radio-head!
