shootShifter helps to redate and rename complete folders of images based on the EXIF-data or finder-dates.
With the preview-timeline its quite easy to synchronize several folders that were taken with differing camera-dates.

What's new in this version:
- [new] added option to set a startvalue for the rename-counter (just once, or every time)
- [new] added option to directly set the new date for an image in the selected folder (double-click its thumb). all other images in the same folder are changed accordingly
- [workflow] optimized the UI to better distinguish between renaming and saving datechanges. i hope its more clear now, right from the beginning, whats going on
- [fix] EXIF-data-reading optimized to support some more rare .jpeg-variants
- [fix] improved error-handling for protected files: smooth import, meaningful error-messages and no more crashes
- [fix] the small "cancel datechanges"-button now works in the english localisation, too
- [fix] when removing an imagefolder from the app it was possible that wrong previews were displayed temporarily
- [fix] previewing images that were deleted in the finder after import resulted in a crash
- [fix] a few other minor fixes and ui-tweaks

Doesn't always find EXIF data

I tried to use shootShifter to reset the Finder date to the EXIF data on a bunch of photos. shootShifter claimed there was no EXIF data in the photos and was unable to process them. However, the photos clearly have EXIF data attached as verified by exiftool and other programs. I also found the interface non-intuitive.

Helpful application to recover the Finder's date settings for photos that have been modified by other programs. Many programs supplied by camera manufacturers set the Finder date to the date and time of the download instead of the original EXIF data. This utility can set the original creation date and the date of the last modification back to the time stamp of the original shooting.
In addition pics can be renamed by attaching a number suffix in order of their creation date, so pics taken with different cameras get into their correct sequence of production.
