I watch TV with my Mac with The Tube for a while now and I have to say: Two thumbs up!
The coolest feature that I just LOVE is the free-of-charge iPhone App, with which you are able to stream live TV on your iPhone. Now I can sit on my balcony and watch TV.

I try to export a recorded movie to iMovie. But the export always stops exact at file size of 24,89 GB (26.727.696.000 Bytes) of the .dv file. So I cannot export my movies :-(
v2.91 works with OSX-10.5.6 - Version: 2.9.2, 12/27/2008 10:46AM PST

Upon updating my OS to 10.5.6, "The Tube" stopped working. Actually, it would work for about 30 seconds with high CPU usage and then crash. The 2.91 update fixes this problem, and all seems well again.

Thoroughly loved this product and, perhaps more importantly, found Equinux to be a prompt, firendly and accomodating company to deal with - and there aren't many of them around!

The latest update added a fairly long list of about a dozen pieces of TV tuner hardware for US and markets abroad. A large number of Miglia gizmos are now supported - who are shipping The Tube bundled with their tuners after the fallout with ElGato and the bundling of EyeTV. For $19.95 I was able to try out TheTube with my old TVMicro Express.
The Tube IS getting better. Equinux is at least getting steady improvements out. Still, the achilles-heel is their lack of an EPG - Program Guide for the US market. Don't be fooled by their talk of the .XMLTV standard for obtaining TV program schedules - it is so geeky and convoluted - it's barely usable by determined Nerds - let alone the average consumer who just wants to know what shows are on! Still a long way to go to catch up with EyeTV - but competition is always a good thing...

The missing link ... - Version: 2.7.2, 5/21/2008 03:44PM PST

For the moment the download link to v2.7.2 leads to a download of v2.7.1 with no sighting of the latest version at the Equinux site. Let's hope this get sorted soon.

I'm very happy with this update.
Everything works really fine and smoothly. (Switzerland; Cable-TV; Dual G5)
The quality of the picture is fine.

Don't waste your money and time buying this product if you live in a country that broadcasts Digital TV in H.264/MPEG-4 formats.

For me the software came bundled with a DVB-T hauppauge USB stick. And to watch TV on my MacBook, I have to now buy EyeTV software http://www.elgato.com/
