Product Description:

Sharpshooter is a small application which aids the management of screenshots. When you take a screenshot on Mac OS X with Command-Shift-3 (or with another variation) Sharpshooter will presents a window where you can review the picture and choose what to do with it. You can either rename it from its default name to something more descriptive, move the screenshot to the Trash, or cancel the operation keeping the screenshot as it is.

Sharpshooter is a background agent application so you may want to add it as a login item to always have it running in the background. You can control Sharpshooter through the menu status item on the right side of the menu bar.

What's new in this version:

  • New multiple monitor feature which allows you to rename each monitor's screenshot as a group, composite the screenshots into one image, or rename the different monitors' images separately.
  • New window toolbar with an action button.
  • Moved the Preferences... button to the toolbar action button.
  • Fixed a problem when trying to rename a screenshot with a slash in the name.
  • Improved the menu status item icons.
  • Fixed a bug where Sharpshooter would miss some screenshots due to timing issues.
  • Improved localizations by Yoshiya Tsuchisaka and Dominique Larcher.

I've been using the *free* [beta] version for over a year on a *very* regular basis. Love it.

It works . . . with 10.4.11 (PPC) flawlessly.

Did I mention that it [version 0.6.1b is, er, *was* free? I'll send you the 1.4 MB dmg file if you want . . .

No matter what I do, I can't get the file extensions to be show. Even the new beta I installed today that addresses extensions didn't make a difference.

Sharpshooter CommentaryFeature Request - Version: 1.0.2, 2/3/2009 02:30AM PST

I’d actually buy it, but there some little details that I’m missing:
- check/ uncheck frequently used formats (this keeps the menu clean and makes choices faster)
- drag and drop files/folders to the "where" location instead of having to open it (so you can assign a destination folder much more faster)
