Ah, but holding down the option key means you have to wait for your computer to finish closing all programs, logging out, restarting, then getting to the start chime, and immediately hold down Option without missing the window of opportunity - otherwise, you'd have to wait for it to finish booting what you don't want, then try again.
So, instead you could just tell QuickBoot "Restart in the other OS, just this ONE time" and walk away or do something else.
So, yes, there is an alternative free way to do what this software does that is less convenient. What? What's that you say? This is free too, and more convenient? Oh. :-)
I think it's interesting when people take the time to shoot down software developers who do something that makes things more convenient for others. It's especially strange when the product is free and people still say "Waste of . . . what?" I don't use alternate booting, so this product won't be useful to me, but I bet a lot of multi-booters out there will find this very convenient - and they don't even have to pay for it!

Simply hold the option key down when booting to pick a system. No need for another app.

I tried it on my MacPro, to change from one HD to another. It closed every program but did not finish the shutdown. I forced shutdown using the power button. On starting up the second HD started up as expected, and again on restarting, the original.
Guess there are some bugs. I hope their fixed soon.
