gSync ReviewWorks great for me - Version: 1.2.1, 1/21/2008 12:00AM PST

Apparently there were some data corruption issues in previous versions, but I started with v1.2.1 using the free trial and it's worked flawlessly so I upgraded to the paid version. In trial mode, the only feature that is disabled is the "scheduled sync" feature, so you have to manually sync. Now that I've paid, I just leave it in the background, syncing every 20 mins. It's worked great, no data corruption, no CPU hogging.

gSync ReviewBuyer beware, use at the risk of your calendar data. - Version: 1.1.1b, 11/27/2007 09:05AM PST

I tried this product as well as one of it's competitors. I'm very sad to say that both work very poorly in far too many situations for me to trust either one. I followed the gSync troubleshooting list for several months to see if some of the issues I was facing would get worked out, and I've finally given up hope for the time being. I absolutely live by my calendar, and simply cannot afford to have the data be constantly at risk, and have the nagging doubts as to what's been deleted, duplicated, or had it's time accidentally shifted by the syncing process. Whether the issues are because of Google's code changes or gSync bugs is immaterial to me. This product (as well as it's major competitor, Spanning Sync) makes my calendar unreliable, and that is simply a situation I cannot accept.

I love the idea, and I want to see it succeed, but for the moment, I would have to warn anyone off of using this without LOTS of FREQUENT backups and CONSTANT vigilance over one's calendar data. I would rather just subscribe to my Google calendars in iCal for a read-only view than use one of these poorly implemented syncing products and suffer the data loss/alteration nightmares that follow around many users.

If this product becomes stable and reliable, I'll be the first in line to buy it. Until then, I don't need the extra stress of missing appointments.
