DupeNuker uses the CRC32 algorithm to create very small "fingerprints" that identify a file. The purpose of this is to automatically identify duplicate files and delete them. What makes DupeNuker unique is that you don't need to have the original files in order to detect duplicates.

DupeNuker ReviewTry Tidy up! - Version: 3.0.1, 7/5/2007 11:08AM PST

admittedly I only spent 5 min with the product, I had tried tidy up! but was looking for something better. this demo produces only 10 results, no color coding, hard to read and decipher in comparison, used terminology seems initially confusing although I figured it out, and it cost $15 more so I didn't see a reason to continue evaluation.

DupeNuker Commentary$40? - Version: 3.0.1, 7/4/2007 08:03PM PST

These days $40 buys about 120GB of hard drive space, so unless this utility can find and delete more than 120GB of duplicates, it might be a bit overpriced.
