CrossWire Developer NoteUpdates from Dev Team - Version: 1.0b3, 7/8/2007 10:37PM PST

iMac600
It actually just uses the FrostWire core, the application around it is developed by our group as such (and compiled in Mach-O).

The preferences window does need a redesign, which is planned to be done before version 1.0 Final. Some other elements will also likely change, including a new search tool, advanced search capabilities and an updated results filter.

CrossWire ReviewResponse - Version: 1.0b3, 7/8/2007 04:15PM PST

Rampancy, I agree - CrossWire could be a lot more Mac-like. The 'search' facility is strange, I agree. No 'crashes' on my Intel iMac (running 10.4.10). I see the FrostWire people are behind this project. What I have noticed is this : search for certain files in CrossWire and they are 'queued' or 'connecting'. The very same sourced files in FrostWire, however, download immediately. Though this application has its faults, and I am sure it will improve, the good thing is that, despite what many idiots say, music sharing didn't die when Crapster went legit.

Very, very unstable. I just clicked a few checkboxes in the preferences window (where movies, pictures, etc. download to) and it crashes repeatedly.

Oh, and I'd much prefer a more "Mac-like" preferences window as opposed to the list-form that it has now. And, I can't customize the toolbar.

CrossWire Developer NoteAddressing this Issue (Intels Affected) - Version: 1.0b1, 6/30/2007 11:18PM PST

iMac600
I reforwarded it through the Intel internal testers and they said this time around it was the same issue. Turns out the compiler is compiling as universal binaries then only including the PowerPC instruction set, leaving a corrupted dylib... it's a real mess on the compiler's behalf.

I have split the binaries up so the PowerPC version can run in Rosetta at quite a fast speed, but the Intel version is still being hammered out by the Intel side of the developer group (CrossWire DG/Intel)

Here is what my log says about this .app when I start it on my MBP:

$~/Desktop/CrossWire.app/Contents/MacOS/CrossWire
dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/rbframework.dylib
Referenced from: /Users/Ahjema/Desktop/CrossWire.app/Contents/MacOS/./CrossWire
Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
/Users/Ahjema/Desktop/CrossWire.app/Contents/MacOS/./rbframework.dylib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
/Users/Ahjema/Desktop/CrossWire.app/Contents/MacOS/rbframework.dylib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
Trace/BPT trap

Looks like an Architecture framework issue.

Downloaded it today, hoping it would be better than Limewire. However when I tried to open the application it closed up immediately and would not open.
