Product Description:

Clone Window is a tool for the toolbar in Finder windows.

Duplicate the frontmost Finder window with one mouse click by showing the same folder and using the same view settings as the first window.

This is useful when you want to keep your current window as it is, but you want a second window as a base for further navigation from the same folder as the current window.

Much more efficient interaction with the Finder
Uses less memory and hard disk space
Added a utility application to assist with the installation and un-installation
Fixed window positioning when near a screen's border, considering multiple monitors
Fixed behavior when volumes have identical volume names

My old machine failed and I am setting up a new one. One of the first things I had to do was come here to get Clone Window. Hadn't realized how much I use it until it was absent. Easy to install. Easy to use. Easy to love.

I've tried all manner of methods and scripts for duplicating Finder windows, and this one is the fastest, easiest, and most stable. I especially like the way the new window is placed "cascade" style just in front of the first. I agree -- this should be a resident feature in OS X. Thanks for this app.
