There does not seem to be a checksum or gpg signatures. I have downloaded it but have not installed it for this reason. A web search was unable to find this information. I hope this information will be clearly given in the download page.

Well, I discovered this app in the VT weekly updates. Since I've used fink and FinkCommander in the past and I use MacPorts now, I gave it a try.
It shows out-of-date installed packages using red text. I decided to upgrade one package and clicked the "update dependencies" check box. The process worked to install several and I saw a number of errors run by.
What I discovered is that I could not select all in its log window. I could drag-select the log text but I could not copy. I think this is a needed feature. Working at the command line, I upgrade or install packages in a new Terminal window and watch or later review the log. That way, I can attempt installation of individual dependent packages. Ahh... wait. I see there is a View:Show Log item in the menu that will open the Porticus.log file in Console and I get a listing like the command-line output of the port command.
I'll be comparing the same update install from the command-line later today to see if it generates the same errors.
I like the interface and may incorporate Porticus in the future. I really would like the log copy feature in the apps GUI without needing to visit the menu and Console, though. I think it would be more intuitive. :-)

P.S. I see "Help isn't available for Porticus" in the menu. It is intuitive enough for MacPorts users, though.

I just tried this application and it saved me a lot of time. There are a few features that need to be added related to uninstalling, but it does work and it works well.
