Apple Final Cut Pro Troubleshooting Reportsolution found - Version: 5.1.3, 2/16/2007 04:43PM PST

Following my original feedback- I have discovered the solution - If you are unable to upgrade to version 5.1.3 using automatig updater tool - do foolowing: go to Apple website --Mac OSX--Downloads--select Apple downloads--Final Cut Pro 5.1.3--log in under user name and enter the serial number of your software -- download 5.1.3 upgrade file which DOES INSTALL without any problems.
Apple must have posted damaged or faulty file on server which is accessed by automatic Software Update tool.

Apple Final Cut Pro Troubleshooting Reportversion 5.1.3 can not be installed - Version: 5.1.3, 2/16/2007 04:04PM PST

Automatic Software Updater recognises that Final Cut Pro 5.1.3 is required , ( to update existing version 5.1.2) but when the .pkg file is dowloded, it can not be insalled . Tried several ways, but they all fail. What is going on?!

Apple Final Cut Pro CommentaryIntel Version cannot use AE Plug Ins - Version: 5.1.1, 8/9/2006 12:38PM PST

As stated by a previous user, Afetr Effects plug ins DO NOT work on teh Intel version of FCP at this time. However, Apple has NOTHING to do with this. Adobe has not yet announced plans for a Universal Binary version of the After Effects plug-in API. Until they do (and they might never), Intel-based Macs owners are out of luck.

Stick to your G5's for a while!

Apple Final Cut Pro Troubleshooting Reportcan't download it - Version: 5.1.1, 6/21/2006 02:26PM PST

Am I the only one who gets "you appear to have already downloaded [this update]?"

I've not: My universal is 5.1, NOT 5.1.1... and it won't let me download the 5.1.1 update...

sigh....

Apple Final Cut Pro ReviewPlug ins not supported on Intel Macs: 5.1 for PPC and Intel are NOT the same! - Version: 5.1, 5/13/2006 05:05PM PST

Go to Apple's website and have a look at the Final Cut Pro 5.1 features, you'll be promised "Support for many third-party After Effects plug-ins". Buy it, install it on your new Intel Mac, and you'll find Apple has dropped support for these plug-ins! Read the small print on Apple's 5.1 release notes: "Final Cut Pro 5.1 does not support Adobe After Effects plug-ins on Intel-based Macintosh computers."

This is an outrage! If you use After Effects plug-ins as a professional editor, this is an unacceptable decision, and you may want to stay on a PPC system for quite a while to protect your investments. For example, users of Redgiant's excellent $400 plug in "Magic Bullet" can't grade from within FCP anymore, they have to switch to Motion 2. (If you are working with several video tracks forget getting them back after you reimport from Motion.)
Apple MUST re-introduce support for After Effect plug-ins on Intel Macs!

Apple Final Cut Pro CommentaryWhat a raw deal for PPC users - Version: 5.1, 3/31/2006 10:27AM PST

I really feel like I've gotten the short end of the stick here being a PPC user. Very upsetting indeed. I hope that Apple repents quickly and offers the PPC update for free. Sure, this may not be much money for most folks who use this software, but for others it is.

I am trying to load my older version of final cut, to get around paying for the upgrade on to a new G5 and am getting an error message that the program can not function without an agp graphics card, which I must have on my computer, but still I can not install the program. Any help?
