PandoraJam Troubleshooting ReportNo Longer Records or Moves Songs to iTunes - Version: 1.3 build 256, 9/10/2009 06:06AM PST

This is a terrific piece of software for which I am a paid registrant. Alas, sometime in the past week PandoraJam lost the ability to record tunes to my User/Library/Music/PandoraJam folder, and it no longer moves songs into iTunes. Not sure if this happened after I installed Snow Leopard last week or upon installing the new iTunes 9.0 yesterday. Any thoughts?

Some recent upgrades to the software include:

* Pandora One support. If user is a subscriber to Pandora One, recordings are high quality 192kbps MP3 , exactly as broadcast.
* Genre tag is now set on recordings.
* Recordings are added to the correct playlist if user changes radio station at end of track

I did have a few questions for the developer and received a reply in one hour and five minutes. This app is well worth the registration fee, you will recover that in your first downloads ( vs paying iTunes for the downloads).

Also upgrading to Pandora One is worth the fee for the service they provide.

PandoraJam Troubleshooting ReportFix for ClickToFlash and PandoraJam conflict - Version: 1.3 build 250, 3/10/2009 11:49PM PST

If you launch Pandora and the plug-in breaks (i.e., you see what looks like a Lego in the window), it may be conflicting with the ClickToFlash plugin. I have published an application which fixes this at http://www.jeffporten.com/?p=933.

PandoraJam ReviewSo well done! - Version: 1.3 build 250, 2/1/2009 09:44AM PST

Wow, this is a killer app and extremely well thoughout! The attention to detail rocks.

Aspects I like are as follows:

- no browser needed
- small enough to be out of the way, but large enough to have all of the web based features
- recording!!!!!
- thumbs up recordings automatically kept in a folder; thumbs down recordings not kept at all
- ability to automatically add to iTunes or not (my daughter does, I don't)
- automatically gets the cover art
- can edit stations etc.

One thing I don't care for (probably not PandoraJam's fault):

- 64 bit rate recordings

However, I assume that they are broadcast in this manner, or that this is done to prevent "issues". Either way, I'm really impressed with this app, and strongly recommend it to all others. His Comic book app is great too.

The only issue is that I don't know what to suggest to the poor Windows users who can't use PandoraJam. Well, aside from, "go buy a Mac".

PandoraJam Reviewbit rate - Version: 1.3 build 250, 9/13/2008 07:38AM PST

Great program with one downside. All the songs are at a bit rate of 64 kbps. I would prefer to get them at 128 or higher. Still, it works great and for what little it costs, even the low bit rate is acceptable.

Looks like the Webkit update in the Safari 3.1.1 update did something bad to PJ, the playback is now extremely choppy/unlistenable :(

Been using since finals week for ambient beats from Pandora. Works well on my iBook G4, though Pandora's Flash-based interface is a memory and CPU hog.
Saving to iTunes is a great little feature, and scrobbling the played tracks to Last.fm is awesome. I submitted a quick suggestion to the developer for a different way of handling Last.fm submissions, and got back a response the next day. Just all-around great app.
