- Storyist integrates word processing and database management. (3 replies)
What Storyist does is make it simple to create, maintain and refer back to all story elements (plot, characters, settings, etcetera) and notes without breaking your train of thought. The WP heavyweight, MS Word, attempts to do this (halfheartedly) with NoteBook View. Dramatica tries to do this in a rigid and overly complicated process (IMHO). Other approaches simply have you dump your data, unorganized, into another file and search for it when needed. To be blunt, handling the data needed to create a novel is rarely effectively integrated into the WP.
Storyist handles the data, makes it easily available, and keeps out of the writer's way. It's not perfect but it does this better than any other WP I've seen (so far).
