Product Description:

Paintbrush is a Cocoa-based paint program for Mac OS X, similar to Microsoft Paint and the now-defunct MacPaint. The project's ultimate goal is to recreate the basic functionality of Microsoft Paint, which has been noticeably absent from Mac OS X for years. Paintbrush can open and save to most major image formats, including BMP, PNG, JPEG, and GIF.

What's new in this version:

Fixes graphical glitches when viewing GIFs/PNGs with transparency
REQUESTED: Can now directly paste screenshots under Leopard
Correctly shows dotted line when using Select All
Fixed removal of dotted line with Selection Tool

All I have to say to the developer is thank you for this fun little app! Yes, there is room for improvement which will eventually come along.

Paintbrush - Mac OS X Maybe OK for some but leaves something to be desired. I have been at this long enough to have used MacPaint and also MS Paint the poor copy cat. Yes I agree Paintbrush - Mac OS X can compare to MS paint but Still needs to go a way yet to be comparable to MacPaint. Currently I use the paint portion of AppleWorks 6 and it meets my needs. Although some of its functionality has been lost when used on 10.5 Intel machine. As for me it is still better than what is being offered here, with Paintbrush - Mac OS X. But credit must be given this is after all Freeware. Standing on its own I would rate it a 2.5. good for those who have nothing else.

Although it saves PNG images, it doesn't save them transparent.
