Looking at the site for this "developer" they acknowledge that they've packaged up other individual's Quartz Composer and sample code to make these iMovie files. I don't know whether or not the real authors make a cut of the revenue, but I hope so.

Reviewing the samples and examples, very few of the plug-ins have any artistic merit. Sure, it's only $20, but "Slick" for iMovie is, um, slicker.
