Don't believe the developer's modest proclamation that this simple app just checks for your software architecture and is "nothing more". It is more, a whole lot more.
After effortlessly scanning for every installed program on your HD and reporting back, you then have the option to "Search For Update" on any program that you want to possibly update. If you select VersionTracker as your source for updates, you will then be taken directly to VT and the program/update you are searching for will automatically be displayed. ArchDetect has made checking for program updates EASY, and as far as I can tell, is the only freeware program that does this.

Like Dan, I've not been able to mount the release 1.2.2 disk image, getting the same warning. I've e-mailed the developer.
