Product Description:

MetaX is a meta-data tagger for mp4 files and their derivatives. It uses Atomic Parsley on the back-end to write the tags to your video files. MetaX automatically searches Amazon.com to find tags (so you'll need an internet connection). Cover art data can be retrieved from Amazon.com, Yahoo!, or from the video file itself. Share your tag data with friends using the new archive export feature.

What's new in this version:

Fixed chapter track handling to be compatible with HandBrake 0.9.3 as well as earlier versions.
Added progress indicator for metadata searches.
Added preference/prompt for video kind. This is used to narrow tagChimp search results.
Stability improvements.

MetaX will no longer eat your chapter track when using HandBrake 0.9.3. The code has been modified to work with the new HandBrake files as well as previous ones. MetaX will now allow you to set a preference for the type of file that you are tagging (Movie, TV Show, Music Video). This information is used to narrow the search results from tagChimp. The default behavior of this feature is to prompt the user for the video kind. Modify this to suit your needs in the "File" section of the preferences. All files with previously set video kinds are honored.

This was the first app I've ever donated for. Easy to use, and makes tagging my Apple TV movies so quick and easy. There used to be a bug where certain movies would vanish after using MetaX if you didn't have the "safe" option checked, but now it will just give you an error message if that was going to happen, instead of deleting.

Also, the developer is constantly updating this app. I've actually submitted a bug, and had the developer email me back within an hour, and the bug was fixed that day. I'm sure he can't do that every time, but it is still very impressive. On average, there are probably two updates a week with new features and bug fixes.

Works very good but one small issue with TV-Shows - Version: 2.2.8, 1/8/2008 06:56AM PST

The tag for disk number and track number are different for MetaX than iTunes. MetaX allows only a simple number (1, 2, 3, etc), iTunes expects a string like '1 of 6' or '22 of 26'.

Otherwise MetaX is a very useful program, and functions as advertised.
