Premiere Pro is great component of Adobe Creative Suite 3.
Adobe is alone in offering a suite of powerful image processing programs that are completely integrated to produce an unmatched work flow.
Premiere Pro is a powerful component of the suite. While I'm not a professional editor, I am a media professional and Premiere Pro does everything I need and much more.

Adobe abandoned the Mac market because Final Cut Pro made its first appearance (way back in the Classic days). Now they are trying to get them back by releasing Premiere for Intel only. This seems like a stupid strategy in the short run, because most users are still PowerPC.
In the long run, this will wind up being good (since Apple will most likely stop PPC support within 5 years), BUT...the fact that many Mac users feel burned by Adobe all around means they won't be switching from Final Cut or even iMovie anytime soon.

Ilgaz
I find this hard to believe. Adobe Premiere is an amateur/semi professional (some disagree) AVI based NLE and the reason all these years they couldn't release was just the PowerPC CPU which AVID Technologies manages to ship a full feature DV editor for free (Avid FreeDV).
I am using some software coded by no more than 20 people and they release both Windows and Mac Universal clients exact same time. The "Trick" is using technologies such as OpenGL, Quicktime and OpenAL. The freeware, open source video editors/process utilities such as Film-Gimp is coded by 10 guys at most and they release them multi platform source code which you can even run on single/dual G4.
Whether you are amateur or professional, don't trust your data to a company which can't code for PowerPC and don't buy emulated Windows software running on OS X claiming to be native.
Ask professionals why they don't go "AVI" based even on Windows whenever possible.
