iLid is a simple Preference Pane for OS X that lets you control whether or not your Mac laptop will wake up from sleep when you open the lid. (If you've ever had your laptop wake up in its carrying case, you know how important this can be.)

iLid is simple and does what it is designed to do. I use the Terminal a lot, but 9+ out of 10 Mac users don't want to go anywhere near it (actually, they haven't even heard of it) and for them, this is a very nice preference pane.

just do this from Terminal.app:
sudo pmset lidwake 0
