... from the comments below... this has evolved into a fine package. I'd suggest checking out this latest version before depending on 2-year old comments.
Not yet a replacement for Fink Commander

It's definitely time for a replacement for Fink Commander and this very well may be it some day. Unfortunately, it has a rather ugly UI that seems to come over from GNOME or Windows (the developer used to developer for Linux and Windows too). Also it doesn't give very good indications that it has finished a task. I like that it tries to simplify the building and package managing of Fink, but it lacks some more advanced features. The category column is a very nice feature that Fink Commander lacks. I have no problem supporting a developer's work when it adds value, ease of use, better user experience, etc., but for right now $20 is a bit much for an unpolished application.

Sorry -- I think this wll be a tough sell. I've been extremely satisfied with FinkCommander for several years now, and I'd like to see something in the blurb that tells how this product is superior, and why the difference is worth the price.
