What is this? - Version: 1.4.2.1007, 4/1/2008 09:27AM PST

Could someone at Google explain what this is supposed to be? Google Desktop 1.4.2 was released last November. When I get Google Updater to try to explain what is going on, it will not respond with any update information.

totle says it all even after uninstalling its still there with error every 10 s so system still damaged by it

The only reason I even bothered to look at this was because Versiontracker listed it as an "Editor's Pick". With so much negative, in doubt, yet to be proven comments, it would help if the Versiontracker editors weighed in with WHY they decided it was "the cat's meow" and specifically address the negative comments found here. I read 4-5 negative posts and then an extremely positive one and wonder, "who are these guys?" Plenty of Google and Apple employees out there and probably in here.
