Trail period/try out problem - Version: 1.1.3, 9/21/2007 02:58PM PST

The above opinion notwithstanding (Excellent, excellent, excellent...), the user interface is a little complicated to figure out in the beginning. Which brings me to my point: the trail period problem. You are given a certain amount of 'try outs" at creating the disk image you want. After that the program doesn't work anymore. The problem is that you are not told how many total 'try outs' you have in the beginning (I guess maybe 10), or even how many you have left. So you play around a bit with all the different options, and there are many, trying this, trying that, and then all of a sudden, before you get what you want, or figure out that this is the software you want to buy, you're told the trail is ended and you have to buy it or forget it. So you know what: I said forget it. The amount of 'try outs' is too low to really try this thing out! This looks like a good program (maybe), but I never had a chance to find out for sure. A message to the developer: please come up with a better trail format, say like a week of unlimited 'try outs." I don't think that is asking too much.
DMG Designs - excellent, excellent, excellent! - Version: 1.1.3, 6/20/2007 01:10PM PST

I have tried DMGDrop and it is a good product. However, DMG Designs is excellent, excellent, excellent for both creating a background image for the opened mounted volume as well as for imprinting an image onto the mounted volume itself. Did I mention that DMG Designs is intuitive and is exceedingly easy to understand at the outset, although its Help menu is also well presented? There is one thing which DMGDrop does slightly better than DMG Designs and that is to create the .icns file from any other given .jpg, .png, etc. image without having to go to IconComposer. But this is a slight matter as it does everything else excellently, excellently, excellently. By the way, all of this effort at creating a Mac application is intended to be a companion to the web site, Relativity Calculator, www.relativitycalculator.com. Best regards to all the folks at DMG Designs, Don Saar, drdonzi@crocker.com.
