Product Description:

RapidoStart is a Free application designed to quickly launch applications, open documents, or access folders. When there is not enough space in the Apple Dock, you can use RapidoStart to stock an endless number of items! RapidoStart is also more discreet. It can be used in conjunction with the Apple Dock or as its replacement. RapidoStart is Freeware, gratis and freely usable! You can copy and distribute it. You can use it for as long a time as you want. RapidoStart requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 Panther. RapidoStart is optimized for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.

As long as I held the dot position right edge upside all worked fine. But a sad day while dark clouds was announcing terrible disasters, I was so foul to dare to change it at the right bottom first and then (challenging the Gods) to choose 'shortcut' as option to let it pop out! Lightning and thunderbolts terrified me and... nothing could close the window.. and I had to restart!
(by the way not only once: in fact I couldn't no more use it even only to ask to be forgiven and run in hurry to change my silly choice)

versus FinderPop and Quicksilver - Version: 2.1.1, 4/27/2008 06:05PM PST

So far, I find FinderPop more convenient. Items (apps, files, folders) I want to access are available via right-click contextual menu, as many as I want to stick in the FinderPop folder of aliases. Via FinderPop I can also right-click on something, slide over to an app in the contextual FinderPop menu to open it or to a folder in that menu. With the latter, a dialog box asks me if I want to move the original, copy, or alias of that item into the folder.
Quicksilver with a keyboard shortcut pops up and with starting to type the name of the item Quicksilver gives me a list of what it could be. I haven't explored Quicksilvers other praised options yet.
I haven't yet seen why RapidoStart would be more convenient than either one of those ... at least for my needs.
