I was pretty excited to try this out as I wanted to dive into some basic video editing, but after investing about four or five hours with it, I'm going elsewhere. It lacks a great of basic user-friendly features and has quite a few bugs. Might turn into something worthwhile in the future, but only after extensive development.
not worth it.

Overpriced buggy piece of software that crashes easily and will act like it's exporting the finished edit but instead after looking like it is writing 60Mb in the file, just erases it and save nothing. No file. nada, nothing. don't waste your time with this overpriced junk software.
Excellent!

I came across this software through in article in MacLife, Germany. I am using iLife, so at a first look, I did not really believe I could benefit from your software, but took a closer look at it anyhow, especially since I am not happy with Apple's recent release of iMovie 08.
It was a few days ago when I grasped the potential of the software. Basically, for a much lesser price I found it allows the creation of effects etc. for which I had previously purchased a larger plugin collection for iMovie 06. I was amazed and spontaneously purchased a license.
Norrkross Movie runs a lot smoother and more reliably than the plugins I purchased. And in fact, will save me a lot of money for other software I would have otherwise possibly purchased. After I understood how to create fades, placement of clips, pics etc. and control their fades etc. at certain time specs, I began to love it. I am also pleasantly surprised how well it runs on my older Powerbook G4.
I am an amateur, just compiling videos be it for personal use or for other more or less like giving away photos. So Norrkross will not replace iMovie for me, since certain features are still easier to use in iMovie, if I do not need or have the time to do indepth work. BUT: This piece of software allows me to add these features whenever I do not want to compromise with the limited effect themes iMovie or respective plugins offer. In fact, I found a lot of features I had needed for a project last year, which would have been so much better to perform and with less work.
If I were a complete beginner, I would see one downside: The learning curve is somewhat steep, and although you can perform about anything I can think of, there is much more manual work involved.
